Kentucky Attorney General challenges Beshear’s mask mandate for schools

KENTUCKY (WEHT) – Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron is challenging Governor Andy Behsear’s new mask mandate in schools.

The governor signed an executive order on Tuesday requiring all students and staff wear masks inside schools regardless of vaccination status. Beshear says this comes as Kentucky sees its fastest surge ever in new COVID-19 cases.

Cameron called the governor’s order “an unlawful exercise of power.” He is calling on the Kentucky Supreme Court to overturn it.
