Early Saturday morning authorities were on patrol when they noticed a heavily damaged car backing up into a yard at 10th Street in Knox County.
Authorities say they also noticed a heavily damaged truck parked alongside a curb near the yard.
The driver of the car, 28-year-old Stephanie Stearns of Evansville, was stopped by authorities when they reported scent of an alcoholic beverage.
Authorities reported two open alcohol containers were found in the center console.
It has been reported that Stearns had a blood alcohol content of .21 and tested positive for marijuana.
Stearns was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and taken to Knox County Jail.
