Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear was promoting the state’s opioid disposal program in western Kentucky on Monday.

Beshear met with seniors at the Munday Activity Center in Owensboro, where hundreds of pouches used to dispose unused prescriptions were handed out.

Up to 45 pills or six ounces of liquid can be disposed of at one time.

Beshear said it can lower the number of new addictions.

Beshear also said the pouches will be available at county senior centers in the Green River Area Development District.
