Lawsuit Alleges IceMen Broke Lease Agreement

IceMen Owner Ron Geary

The Evansville IceMen left town more than a year ago but a lawsuit against the defunct team appears to just now be nearing its end.

In June 2016, Robie Properties LLC filed suit against the IceMen – alleging the team breached its lease agreement.

The team was renting a building in the 500 block of Main St.

The plaintiffs are seeking more than $55,000 plus additional costs of utilities and taxes.

According to court records, in December, owner Ron Geary asked for and was granted an extension because the team had not yet been sold and was not earning income.

Earlier this month, the team was officially sold to Jacksonville, Florida.

Court records show Geary and the property owner met earlier this week to discuss a settlement.
