Local mail carrier to be honored in Washington, D.C.

PRINCETON, Ind. (WEHT) – A letter carrier from Princeton is to be honored for saving a man and his dog from an aggressive pit bull.

Mark Schuh of the Evansville Branch number 337 will be awarded the Central Region Hero of the Year.

The National Association of Letter Carriers said Schuh saw a man and his pet beagle getting attacked by a pit bull. We’re told he used pepper spray to subdue the pit bull, and then made sure the man got medical treatment.

Several other carriers also are being recognized as heroes.

The National Association of Letter Carriers Heroes of the Year will be honored at a special luncheon at noon on Wednesday, October 30th in Washington, DC.
