16th annual community Nativity Festival kicks off in Evansville

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – Hundreds of nativities are on display this weekend for the annual community Nativity Festival.

The event takes place at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and features live music, a children’s room, and refreshments.

It’s all free to the public.

An organizer says over 600 displays were put out and members of the church have been prepping for the event all week.

“I really enjoy the Christmas music and the feeling that it brings to us. I also like sharing my nativities. I have my own collection so to bring them and share them as well is nice, to do that as well,” says Nativity Festival Director Carla Martin.

The event has taken place for over 15 years.
