6th Annual Fiesta Evansville celebrates diversity

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Evansville held their 6th Annual Latino celebration in the heart of the city. Fiesta Evansville took Wesselman’s Park with more than one hundred booths and food from 20 different Latin American countries. There was live mariachi music, inflatables and carnival games.

“My favorite part is the celebration of diversity by Mayor Winnecke whenever he realizes that we are a very diverse community. Whenever he welcomes the Latino community, it’s amazing. This year, we had the fortune to also have the Consul General from Mexico traveling here to participate in Fiesta,” said Abraham Brown.

Brown went on to say the Latino population in Evansville almost doubled in the last five years. The event goes until six and admission is free.
