WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – Alcoa and the United Steelworkers have extended their contract deadline.
The two groups are making progress in reaching a new master agreement, according to Alcoa. But they need time to study proposals.
A new deadline has not been set at this time.
Operations at Alcoa are not impacted.
We will continue to follow this as information becomes available.
HAPPENING NOW: Alcoa extended its contract to allow more time to study proposals. The original contract ended @ midnight & many feared union workers would go on strike if agreement was not met for a fair contract. A new deadline has not been set. Operations will remain unaffected pic.twitter.com/LuKO1BwKa3— Amelia Young (@ameliayoung) May 16, 2019
