NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) – Alcoa and the United Steel Workers are back at the bargaining table.
Negotiations resumed on Wednesday morning.
The most recent contract was schedule to expire on May 15, but both sides agreed to extend the contract while negotiations resumed.
The local USW members voted to authorize a strike during negotiations.
It would be the first at Alcoa since 1986.
A company tied to Alcoa recently signed a new agreement with USW at the end of June.
