The Allstate Foundation has awarded the Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence (KCADV) $115,000 in grants for its Economic Empowerment Project.
For 12 years, the Allstate Foundation and KCADV have partnered to break the cycle of domestic violence through empowerment.
The foundation’s funding will support individual case management, education classes, Individual Development Accounts, and micro loans throughout Kentucky’s 15 domestic violence programs.
In 2016, 1,895 people were served with financial empowerment services using the Allstate Foundation’s Moving Ahead Through Financial Management curriculum.
Of those people, 844 created a financial plan or budget, 69 opened bank accounts, 342 are working to improve credit scores, and 540 met financial goals.
