Annual ‘National Night Out’ event kicks off in Evansville

National Night Out is an opportunity for law enforcement, emergency responders and the public to get to know each other better, and to make the community safer.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Evansville National Night Out event kicks off on Monday morning with a breakfast event.

National Night Out is a chance for law enforcement, emergency responders and neighborhoods to get to know each other a little better, and to make the community a little safer.

A kickoff breakfast will be held at Wesselman’s Shelter #1 at 9 a.m. Monday morning.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will be there to read a proclamation, declaring August 6 as National Night Out day in Evansville.

The event itself takes place from 6 until 8:30 Tuesday night at Wesselman Park.

The public is invited, and there will be free food and activities all evening.
