OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – The new Apollo High School football stadium is expected to host its first game of the season.
Eyewitness News captured the last-minute rush to complete construction Friday.
Workers in hard hats were scrambling to put the finishing touches on the $15 million project.
The stadium features turf field, a new track and new locker rooms.
“To see tonight what will be the culminating event for me personally. Seeing our student athletes, our coaches, our band and our cheerleaders on the field tonight for the very first time will be a really neat moment for us.”
Apollo will host rival Daviess County. The two teams score a ton of points.
As long as the weather holds up, Eyewitness News will live stream this game on our website, www.tristatehomepage.com.
