Arrest Made in Connection with Aleah Beckerle Case

Eight months after Aleah Beckerle was allegedly taken in the night, Vanderburgh County Prosecutors and Evansville Police said an arrest has been made on the man they believe killed Aleah Beckerle.

Terrence Roach, 24, has been arrested and charged in connection with Aleah’s death.

He faces the following charges:

  • abuse of a corpse
  • burglary
  • criminal confinement
  • kidnapping
  • murder

Roach is a step brother to one of Aleah’s younger sisters, according to authorities.

EPD Captain Andy Chandler said the immediate family members of Aleah Beckerle are not seen as suspects at this time.

Authorities also said the case is evolving and not all details can be revealed.

Prosecutor Nick Hermann said there might be several variations of the murder charge when formal charges are filed.

Hermann also said the death penalty option will be evaluated as the case progresses.

Authorities said there are other people that need to be interviewed as part of the investigation.
