EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Sheriff’s deputies made an arrest in connection with a deadly hit-and-run.

Charlotte Zell faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

Police said she hit John Johnson as Johnson’s wife was pushing him in a wheelchair across the Lloyd Expressway near Rosenberger around midnight on June 2.

A Mount Vernon police officer spotted Zell’s vehicle the day after the incident and notified police who said they were able to match pieces left at the scene to Zell’s car.
