Arrests made in White County following drug bust investigation

WHITE COUNTY, Il. (WEHT) – The Southern Illinois Drug Task Force, the White County Sheriff’s Office, and the Carmi Police Department conducted an arrest warrant detail on Wednesday following a lengthy investigation.

The investigation resulted in numerous narcotics related charges in White County. Several non-drug related warrants were also served during the detail.

The detail resulted in the following arrests and charges:

Jack L. Weasel, 50, of Carmi, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Delivery of Controlled Substance (Heroin)

Kendra L. Obrien, 37, of Carmi, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine

Jefferey M. Newman, 52, of Carmi, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine

Richard L. Travelstead, 58, of Carmi, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Firearm and Possession of Methamphetamine

Jason P. Schneider, 40, of Carmi, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine

Thomas J. McGuire, 65, of Carmi, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine

Richard L. Powell, 44, of Carmi, Theft

Tarynn L. Browning, 22, of Carmi, Obstruction of Justice, Violation of Probation

Jessica L. Smith, 33, of Crossville, Failure to appear warrant

Richard E. Ott, 34, of Carmi, Criminal Trespass to Land, Disorderly Conduct

Miranda K. Travelstead, 41, of Carmi, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine

The cases will be prosecuted by the White County State’s Attorney.
