Artwork honors LST 325

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville man honored the LST 325 with artwork that took 50 hours to finish.

Tony Martin was the man behind the piece.

The LST Gift Shop closed on Thursday due to the ship being docked downtown, but the art has been mounted at Marina Pointe for the last two years.

It’s made of stained-glass, colored pencils, and paint.

Martin said it feels good to see his work appreciated.

You can see Martin’s piece once the LST returns to Marina Pointe.

The crew is offering free tours of the ship downtown through Sunday.
