If you get a traffic ticket via email, don’t stress out because it’s likely a scam.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says this notice is showing up in email boxes claiming you were clocked going over the speed limit near a certain location.

It references speed cameras, but there aren’t any devices like that in Vanderburgh County.

Even if there were, they wouldn’t be emailed.

It’s also important to note, it says you must click a link in order to pay within 72 hours.

The sheriff’s office says so far no one has fallen for it.
