MOUNT VERNON, Ind. (WEHT) – The autopsy of a woman found in the Ohio River found no signs of trauma as authorities look for clues as to how she got there.
The Posey County Coroner’s Office says her preliminary cause of death is drowning, but toxicology tests will shed more light.
The coroner has not yet made a positive identification.
Authorities believe the woman, described as in her 40’s or 50’s, was in the water between a week to a month. Her body was found on Monday near the Port of Indiana in Mt. Vernon.
