Local News

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday in the death of a Newburgh man who died in what’s being called an industrial accident.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office says 67-year-old Joseph Ward died at Red Spot Paint and Varnish Company on Wednesday. That’s located on Louisiana St.

Evansville Police say the situation started as a rescue for an industrial accident. The coroner’s office was called to the scene around noon.

Officials did not provide details on how the accident happened but they did say Ward was an employee at Red Spot.
