B-17 Bomber takes part in Evansville D-Day ceremony

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The LST 325 isn’t the only World War II war machine in Evansville for D-Day observances.

A Boeing B-17 Bomber arrived Monday and took its final flight out on Thursday morning.

The bomber played an important role in Europe and the Pacific during the war.

While here the plane was available for tours and personal flight.

Eyewitness News’ Brad Byrd was on a flight with World War II veteran Allen Sanderson Thursday.
