BOONVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Boonville Fire Department said a balcony collapsed on Friday around noon.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they said bystanders were supporting the vertical section of concrete to prevent it from falling.
Crews began to stabilize the material and provided care to people with possible injuries.
Two people were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The fire department said a large concrete patio had collapsed from the second floor onto the scaffolding below where contractors were working.
Stabilization struts were used to secure the vertical section of concrete to prevent an unstable area, according to the fire department.
