Band: David Allan Coe not performing in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – David Allan Coe was scheduled to bring his “The Last Outlaw Tour” to the Daviess County Lions Club Fairgrounds Saturday, but the now a member of the band tells us they are not allowed to perform.

According to band member Joe Johnson, the band was escorted off the property and told they are not allowed to play by the show’s promoter.

We contacted the fairgrounds and were told over the phone that the other bands scheduled to play will still be performing. No reason was given for David Allan Coe not performing.

The fairgrounds also posted on Facebook saying, “We have been informed that David Alan Cole will not be performing tonight at the Daviess County Lions Fairgrounds. No reason given. We are waiting for a statement from the promoter.”

“I want everyone to know that I was very much ready and able. We were there, we were right down the street and my road manager called my wife and told her that they had just been escorted off the property,” said David Allan Coe.

Confederate Railroad was also scheduled to perform. The band posted on Facebook just before 6 p.m. Saturday, saying they will not be able to play because their bus broke down. According to the Facebook post, the band would not be able to make it to the fairgrounds in time to perform.

The Daviess County Lions Fairgrounds said on Facebook that they had nothing to do with ticket sales and they are disappointed with the cancellation. The concert prompter told us he will release a statement on Monday.
