Better Business Bureau wants you to beware of phishing scam

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – There is a new phishing scam that the Evansville Better Business Bureau wants you to know about.

What is a phishing scam?

Phishing (pronounced fishing) is a fraudulent attempt to steal your information.

Cybercriminals want your passwords, bank account numbers, or other sensitive information, or they want to trick you into downloading malware onto your computer.

Eyewitness News’ Kelly Austin spoke with Evansville’s Better Business Bureau’s Oana Schneider to find out how to stay safe online and how not to be phished.
