NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) – A bid to build the new Allen Family Amphitheater in Newburgh was awarded to Arc Construction at Wednesday night’s town council meeting.
That’s according to council member Carol Schaefer.
Schaefer says over $400,000 has been raised for the project, all from foundations, businesses and individuals, with no government funding.
The project also includes burying all of the overhead wires on the north side of French Island Trial near the amphitheater site.
Schaefer tells Eyewitness News a groundbreaking ceremony is in the works.
We’re told the project is expected to be done by the summer.
