Bill to raise Illinois smoking age to 21 passes House

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WEHT) – A bill which would raise the state’s smoking age to 21 is making its way through the Illinois General Assembly.

The House passed the bill, which now heads to the State Senate.

If signed into law, Illinois would become the eighth state to raise the tobacco age to 21.
