EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A precautionary boil advisory is in effect for parts of Evansville following a water main break.

The boil advisory has been issued for the area west of North Fifth Avenue to Grove Street, and south of Nestor St. to W. Florida St.

This boil advisory does not include Cedar Hall School.

According to the water department, the break has been isolated and water service has been redirected.

Customers have water in the area, but out of an abundance of caution, the water department is advising customers to boil cooking and drinking water for at least five minutes before using it.

The boil advisory is in effect until further notice.
