Update: Boonville holds special election for city council primary

Update (8:30 p.m.)

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – A special election was held Tuesday night in Warrick County.

And it ended in a tight Democratic primary race for Boonville City Council District 4.

The election office says 314 votes were counted.

Chad Pryor received 159 votes, while Steve Byers had 155.

Officials say there are still six ballots pending.

A judge ordered the special election after Pryor who lost to Byers found several errors in the election process.

The results aren’t official yet.

BOONVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A special election is underway Tuesday in Boonville.

A judge ordered the special election in the Democratic primary race for the District 4 Boonville City Council seat.

The order came after Chad Pryor, who lost to Steven Byers, found several errors in the election process – including people voting in the wrong district.

The special election is expected to cost more than $10,000.

Since this is a special election, officials are trying to figure out who is responsible for picking up the tab.
