The City of Boonville has hired a law firm to sue several major opioid manufacturers and distributors.
Purdue Pharma and Johnson & Johnson are on the list of defendants.
An attorney hired by the city said in a news release that the companies must be held accountable for their roles in creating the opioid epidemic.
