Anne Audain is a former Olympic runner from New Zealand who now lives in Evansville. She has qualified for six Olympic games from from 1976 to 1992.
Audain was adopted as a baby and was born with a bone deformity in both her feet making it difficult for her to week and wear shoes. She ended up having reconstructive surgery when she was 13 years old.
She wrote a book on her life called Uncommon Heart. Also a documentary film, “Anne Audain: Running Her Way” premiered September 23, 2009, in Boise, Idaho. You can find more about the documentary by clicking here.
