ORIGINAL STORY:

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) Evansville Police say a male body has been pulled from a pond near Brickyard Apartments on N. Woods Ave.

EPD says someone was walking his dog when a body in the water was noticed. Officers found a deceased, unidentified male floating near the bank of the lake behind 720 Riverstone Ct.

Officers say the man wasn’t dressed for the weather and are asking nearby residents if they are missing anyone in their household.

“We’re speculating, but we think maybe he either lives in this area or maybe just got dropped off, because the way he’s dressed, he’s dressed light for this time of year and what the temperature it is right now,” Sgt. Nick Winsett with EPD said.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner has been called to the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Evansville Police.
