PIKE COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is announcing a full bridge closure for State Road 56 in Petersburg.

INDOT says, beginning on or around Monday, September 30, crews will close the bridge across Pride’s Creek, less than a mile east of S.R. 57.

This is for a bridge deck overlay project, where workers will be patching and resurfacing the bridge.

The closure will be in place around the clock.

Weather permitting, work scheduled is to wrap up the first week of October.

Drivers can detour using S.R. 56, I-69, S.R. 64 and S.R. 57.

INDOT asks drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews the work crews.
