The Buehler’s IGA in Darmstadt is closing, and currently having a store wide sale.
But good deals are bittersweet for some.
Shopper Iann Gaskell says, “It’s a crying shame that it’s not going to be here. It’s so easy and convenient for me I live close by.”
Linda Scott, who also shops at the Darmstadt IGA says, “I was really surprised it was closing. I really was it seems like it’s always busy when I’m here.”
The official Darmstadt Indiana Facebook page says there’s only a week or two left until it officially closes.
Some Tri-Staters think the opening of Schnucks could be part of the reason.
Raven Scott says, “It’s going to suck in a way because IGA has great prices I’m not trying to bash Schnucks or anything they have more selection but these guys have better prices on stuff.”
Scot Mcnabb, who shops at both stores says, “When Schnucks came in I thought well wasn’t sure how long it would be but I figured it would be some time in the future.”
Other shoppers say they’ll miss the convenience, and plan to go the Buehler’s IGA on First Ave.
The Darmstadt location is the second to close within the last several months.
The IGA in Jacobsville on North Main St. closed in December.
