Update

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that killed an Owensboro woman.

It happened around 6:00 p.m. on the US 60 Bypass near I-165 in Daviess County.

KSP says Ashley Dennis, 38, was driving westbound on US 60 Bypass near KY 54 when she lost control for an unknown reason.

Troopers say it appears Dennis oversteered and slid into the median where her car rolled over and ejected her from the vehicle.

Investigators say she was not wearing a seatbelt and speeding may have contributed to the accident.

It’s unclear if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

This is an ongoing investigation.

It happened around 6:00 p.m.

According to Chief Deputy Barry Smith, it was a single vehicle crash.

The Coroner’s Office was called to the scene.

The Coroner has been called to the scene. The road is shutdown and could be shutdown for several hours.

Drivers should avoid the area, if possible.
