WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – A car ends up in the water Thursday morning after a brief police chase.

The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy noticed a vehicle without a license plate and tried to pull the driver over. Dispatch says this was near the McDonald’s at Vine and Locust Streets in Boonville, shortly after 4:30 Thursday morning.

WCSO says the driver, Dan Adams, 28, sped off and led officers on a short chase before ending up in the Yankee Town Bottoms where he drove his vehicle into floodwaters near Little Pigeon Creek.

Dispatch says Adams considered “swimming to Kentucky,” but authorities persuaded him to return to the dock.

Adams is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving and several other driving infractions. Mr. Adams also had an outstanding Parole Warrant out of Kentucky.
