Car Thefts on the Rise This Winter

Local News

With temperatures dropping in the Tri-State, Evansville Police say car thefts are on the rise.

Evansville Police say people leaving their cars unattented with the keys in the ignition to warm up during the winter creates perfect opportunities for car thief’s.

EPD reports there has already been one report of a car stolen while warming up in Evansville.

In Kentucky, it’s against the law to leave a car running unattended.

There is no law against it in Indiana, but EPD says it is a good policy to follow to keep your cars safe.
