EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The woman charged with defrauding grieving families in Vanderburgh County is back in jail.
Caroline Rich was originally charged with defrauding the Oliver Dill family of $18,000.
The 3-year-old died in a hot car on the campus of USI earlier this year.
The money had been raised through a Go-Fund-Me account and included money from the grieving family.
Rich is also accused of scamming others posing as a hospice care worker.
She was arrested again Thursday night and charged with Forgery, Counterfeiting, Theft and Identity Deception.
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is scheduled to hold a news conference on Friday morning at 10:30 on these additional charges.
