Henderson County Magistrate Carter Wilkerson is no longer seeking re-election, but his name will still appear on the November ballot.
Wilkerson has served as magistrate for 12 years, which is three terms.
He told Eyewitness News that he decided to drop out of the race last weekend.
Wilkerson wants to spend more time taking care of his health.
His name will still be on the ballot, but any vote for Wilkerson will not count.
