EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – The City of Evansville Parks and Recreation Department today announced a $1 million grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation to renovate the park space at 4th and Main Street. The park will be named CenterPoint Energy Square.

“We’re grateful for the CenterPoint Energy Foundation’s investment in Downtown Evansville,” said Mayor Lloyd Winnecke. “This park will be a wonderful addition to our revitalization efforts, and will complement the upcoming development around the block.”

Construction on the park will be coordinated with the 4th & Sycamore and 5th & Main Street projects to begin in 2022.

Earlier this morning, CenterPoint Energy marked the completion of its name transition activities in Indiana by renaming One Vectren Square to CenterPoint Plaza.
