ROBARDS, Ky. (WEHT)- Century Aluminum says an employee died overnight after sustaining “significant injuries” after an incident in the smelter’s anode production facility in Robards Wednesday.
33-year-old Charlie Clark died after the coroner said he was caught in some equipment and was conscious when he left the facility but died on his way to the hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
An investigation into the incident is underway and Century says it will work with “relevant agencies.” Century says it has put support services in place during this “sad and difficult time.”
