EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Charges were dropped against a man accused of sexually assaulting an Evansville nursing home resident.

Austin Cook was arrested in July and charged with rape.

At the time, police said he dressed in makeup and sexually assaulted a 68-year-old Alzheimer’s patient at Columbia Nursing Home.

Cook was scheduled to go to trial Monday, but prosecutors dropped the charges after they said the story from the only eyewitness changed from the time the investigation began until the time the trial was supposed to start.
