Chemo Buddies and Sonic Drive-In stir up something sweet for cancer patients at Deaconess Gateway

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Sonic Drive-In and Chemo Buddies have teamed up to bring customers a new drink and provide support to cancer patients.

Chemo Buddies and Sonic headed to Deaconess Gateway to hand-deliver slushes to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

The two organizations partnered together to create the lemon-based, “Hope Warrior” Slush.

Lemon, one representative says, is a key flavor many patients seek.

Chemo Buddies is a nonprofit organization that provides a group of dedicated volunteers who serve cancer patients while they are in the treatment room receiving chemotherapy.

A representative from Sonic says nine locations in the Tri-State area will be serving the drink and it will be on the menu for the foreseeable future.
