The Evansville City Council approves the Evansville Land Bank Corporation. This will replace the Brownfields Corporation that currently acts as the non-profit in charge of the city’s land banking.
The land bank will take over blighted properties and either demolish them or find a community partner to take over and redevelop. The goal is increasing property tax revenue.
The new evansville non-profit will have a nine member board including three city residents appointed by the mayor.
