Evansville City Council approved nearly $3 million Monday night to fund a new dock and welcome center for LST 325 to relocate across from Tropicana.
City Council member Missy Mosby was the lone no vote. Mosby said at one point she was not sure she can vote without knowing what’s in next year’s budget.
There’s a lot of logistics that go into moving the old war ship to the spot where the Tropicana Riverboat once floated.
It’ll cost the city $2.7 million dollars to build a new dock and visitors center. Tropicana offered $1 million dollars for the move.
LST leadership says attendance could double with that new spot downtown.
