City of Owensboro buys Gabe’s Tower

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – The City of Owensboro has announced it finalized a deal to buy Gabe’s Tower on Triplett Street Thursday afternoon.

Originally the city said it would tear down Gabe’s Tower, but now they’re having second thoughts.

City officials say they’ll take steps to secure and maintain the building. They say the city will buy it for $360,000.

According to the city manager, the city wants to preserve the building for future federal funding.
