Cleanup and restoration process begins for Swiss Plywood building

Local News

TELL CITY, Ind. (WEHT) – Some of the old Swiss Plywood building in Tell City will come down, but most of it will remain standing.

The building caught fire and received extensive damage earlier this month.

The Tell City Port Authority owns the building and says demolition has begun on parts of the building that cannot be saved.

However, Port Authority General Manager Jared Kleemann says other than smoke and water damage, most of the building was not affected.

A cleanup and restoration process is underway.

Kleemann hopes to reopen the building by mid-January.
