Coat rack on Franklin St. seems to have been used overnight

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The coat rack on West Franklin Street appears to have been used overnight.

A sign above the rack reads “Need a coat take one. Want to help, leave one.”

After our story Tuesday night, it seems some of the coats we saw have been replaced with others. The rack isn’t just limited to coats; scarves, hats and other winter apparel can also be donated.

Businesses nearby say the idea came from a man who used to work at the Real Estate Agency next door, and his wife, as a selfless way for the community to help each other out and pay it forward.
