Community One cuts ribbon on restored home

Community One turned an old dilapidated house into affordable homes for low income families in an effort to restore neglected neighborhoods.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch attended Thursday's dedication and ribbon-cutting.

The home was originally built in 1909 and was in bad shape, until volunteers completely gutted and restored it.

Executive Director Eric Cummings said the volunteer work brings inspiration into the neighborhood.

The renovation took over a year to complete and involved thousands of volunteer hours from individuals, churches and businesses.
