OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – From school buses to school entrances, Owensboro public school students received support from the community as they started the school year on Wednesday.
Parents and other prominent community members lined the entrance to Cravens Elementary and other area schools, showing kids support on their first day.
Organizers said the purpose is to show the importance of positive role models and to get kids excited to start the school year.
This is the third year the event has happened across the district.
