A candidate for Indiana's 8th Congressional District hosted a town hall on Wednesday night at Evansville's Central Library.
Willam Tanoos, a lawyer from Terre Haute, is running as a Democrat against incumbent Dr. Larry Bucshon in the November election.
Tanoos took questions from the public on subjects related to federal issues. He says the biggest question people asked is will he actually make change in Washington.
"The idea is not always to be against something," said Tanoos. "We have to be for something, and I don't care what party you are. If we work together and you're for something, if you're for the majority of the people, you work for working men and women, middle class, small business, agriculture, things that are major parts of this community, I think people will respond to that message."
Tanoos also practices law in Evansville. He says he plans on holding more town halls to listen the public's concerns.
