Coroner: Autopsy shows no indication of trauma for victim of Friday fire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An autopsy was completed on the victim of a fire on Vanbibber Ave., according to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office.

Sandra Goings, 69, was treated at the scene by firefighters on Friday.

On Monday, the coroner said there was no indication of trauma and the cause of death will be pending toxicology testing.

The testing will take approximately three to four weeks, the coroner said.

Fire department officials said Goings was removed from the garage, which was being used as a living space.

She was pronounced dead at St. Vincent Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
